On to the review. This was an easy review for me, as this is a product I already use in my home! (Not to be confused with boric acid!) I love several things about this product including the fact that it has one ingredient, which is a natural mineral from the earth and that there are so many uses for it.
One of the big reasons people use Borax is that it reduces the effects of hard water. Since we have a water softener, I can't really give a review of that aspect. However, I can tell you I use it in place of bleach for my laundry, with wonderful results.
This stuff can not only be used in the laundry, but also in the kitchen, bathroom, on carpet, and the list goes on! I will say that I have used it as a dish soap ingredient for my dishwasher and as an ingredient for laundry detergent with poor results. The dishwasher detergent worked fine at first and then I began having problems with a white residue being left on the dishes, and yes, I tried various solutions to this problem. This is apparently not problem that only I experienced. For laundry detergent I used a "dry" recipe and our clothes were not getting clean, as well as stains were being left in armpit areas. I gave up at the time, but I think I might try a "liquid" recipe next time.

I would use it with my homemade liquid laundry detergent. I have found it works great but I do need to use more than what the recipe calls to use to get our clothes clean.
ReplyDeleteI use when washing laundry. It's good stuff to have around!
